资源简介:
Malaria is a serious global health problem, and the rise of resistance to current first-line antimalarials, artemisinins, makes it even more challenging to control. Malaria is caused by parasites, and Plasmodium falciparum is the parasite species responsible for the deadliest form of the disease. This research shows that a common mechanism of drug resistance involves the parasite’s ability to withstand drug-induced oxidative stress. We identified compounds that specifically target this process, offering a new approach to combat anti-malarial drug resistance. These findings highlight a potential strategy for developing more effective treatments against resistant malaria parasites.
