Whole genome sequencing for molecular characterization of carbapenem resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolated from a tertiary care hospital of Bihar.

The presence of the carbapenem gene resistance to carbapenem located on the chromosome of Staphylococcus aureus, identifying the genome of Staphylococcus aureus as a possible reservoir of MDR. This finding may help in the future clinical application of real-time WGS applications to transform in the investigation and management of challenging nosocomial pathogens by overcoming the resolution limitations of analyzing bacterial genomes. Identification of genetic variations will improve our knowledge on future medicines to control MDR and its evolution.
