Data and Code for Wang et al. "Competition between Phragmites australis and Spartina alterniflora: Mechanisms and marsh migration management"

This dataset contains field survey data, remote sensing classification model code, and statistical analysis code supporting the manuscript “Competitive interactions between invader Phragmites australis and Spartina alterniflora: Mechanisms involved and a management option to allow needed landward migration by local marsh plant species” (Wang et al., 2025). The dataset includes (1) files for P. australis expansion at Great Sippewissett Marsh (GSM) in folder "P. australis expansion", (2) file to test role of elevation in competitive invasion dynamics in folder "Elevation", (3) spreadsheet for evaluating clipping as a management tool in excel "clipping_experiment.xlsx", and (4) files to test role of shading in competitive interactions in folder "Shading". These data underpin Figures 2, 4, 5, 6 and Table 1 of the manuscript. For more data collection details please read method section of the paper. The dataset may be reused for comparative studies of coastal wetland invasion dynamics, provided appropriate citation.
