Whole genome assembly of Gemmata obscuriglobus UQM 2246. Gemmata obscuriglobus UQM 2246 Genome

This project contains the nucleotide data used in the the comprehensive comparative genomic and proteomic studies done on the bacteria of Gemmataceae taxonomical family. Gemmataceae are known for complex cellular structure and and many other remarkable features. However, the genetics underlying these features is yet to be explored. This study describes the systematic evolution of some of these features and tries to resolve the major controversies regarding their connection to the eukaryotes and the peptidoglycan cell wall. Genome of Gemmata obscuriglobus UQM 2246 was assembled using Illumina, Roche 454 and Pacbio data with the HGAP assembly software and rearranged according to the PBcR assembly.
