Whole genome sequence of Bacillus species of jute retting bacterial consortium. Bacillus

Three bacterial strains of Bacillus spp. having high polygalacturonase, pectin lyase, and xylanase activity, but no cellulase activity was developed as an effective microbial retting consortium for water-retting of jute and mesta fibres. The whole-genome sequencing of these three strains was performed in Illumina HiSeq 2500 platform. These genome resources will serve as a foundation for the identification of key genes to improve retting efficiency for enhancing fibre quality and developing genome-specific markers for strain typing.
