We propose observations of two newly-discovered radio-loud quasi-stellar objects (QSOs) at the highest redshifts currently explored (z>6; where only five other similar objects are known). These sources are the first two confirmed high-z radio-loud QSOs out of a larger sample of candidates selected with the recent RACS radio survey. This sample will represent the ideal laboratory to study relativistic jets and their impact on supermassive black hole evolution in the primordial Universe, at the end of the epoch of re-ionisation. The primary aim of the observations is to uncover the structure and the emission of these relativistic jets at scales of a few parsecs in order to constrain their physical parameters (e.g. size, orientation, magnetic field). To this end we propose LBA observations in the 13-cm and 3-cm bands with all the antennas available.
我们提出对两颗新发现的射电明亮类星体(radio-loud quasi-stellar objects, QSOs)的观测计划,这类天体处于当前已探测的最高红移区间(z>6,目前仅已知另外5颗同类天体)。这批源是通过近期RACS射电巡天遴选的更大候选样本中,首批获得证认的高红移射电明亮类星体。该样本将成为研究相对论喷流及其对再电离纪元末期早期宇宙中超大质量黑洞演化影响的理想实验平台。本次观测的核心目标是解析数秒差距尺度下的相对论喷流结构与辐射特征,以此限定其物理参数(如尺寸、取向、磁场)。为此,我们提出使用所有可用天线开展13厘米与3厘米波段的甚长基线阵列(Long Baseline Array, LBA)观测。
