Understanding the Concept of Function and its Illusions by Watching Publicly Available Instructional Videos

Instructional videos are increasingly used in education, and studies have shown that especially mathematical content can be learned through the use of these videos. However, there is a research gap in conceptual understanding of mathematical content from publicly available instructional videos. Thus, we investigated the influence of these videos on understanding of the concept of function, belief in this understanding, and their possible discrepancy: the illusion of understanding.
