资源简介:
Soil and sediment for PLM sample was collected from Pangong lake, Ladakh, J&K, India, for the isolation of psychrophilic strains. It is one of the largest brackish water lake of Himalayas situated at a height of about 4250 m above mean sea level. This endorheic lake is completely frozen during winter having dimensions of 134 km long and 5 km wide. Sampling was done in the month of September, 14, 2016. Further these selections were collected in sterile borosilicate glass vessel, labelled and transported on ice and stored at 4°C until analysis.Soil and sediment for LLM sample was collected from Ghazipur, Delhi, India. Ghazipur landfill is an unengineeredand oversaturated landfill site covers an area of approximately 3×105 m2 and receives on an average 2200 metric tonnes/day of waste. The major concern is to effectively degrade waste and detoxify leachate from landfill site. Lysimeter (a simulation of existing landfill conditions) will beused to solve the problem of an unengineered waste site. Lysimeter will help in understanding the science behind dealing with such wastes. Waste sampling was done in May 2015 from varying layers of the landfill (up to 20 cm depth) with the help of a core drill at six sampling points within the landfill.
