Sediment Core Proxy Data and Watershed Socioeconomic Records for Shitang Lake, Eastern China

This dataset consists of two integrated components:<b>Physicochemical and Biological Proxy Data</b> derived from dated sediment cores of Shitang Lake, representing long-term environmental and ecological changes over the past ~200 years.<b>Watershed Socioeconomic and Land-Use Data</b>, reflecting anthropogenic pressures including population growth, fertilizer and pesticide use, crop and aquaculture production, and land cover changes from 1950 to 2020.These data were used to investigate the drivers and processes underlying primary producer regime shifts in a suburban shallow lake ecosystem undergoing intensive human and climate-induced changes.
