NRS-17221 | Register of Admission, Progress and Withdrawal [Whitebridge Infants' School]

The purpose of an admission register was to record basic details about children admitted to the school, and about their parents or guardians. The registers were also used to record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school.The series consists of a single volume in which are recorded all admissions during the entire period of the school’s operation. This volume contains information pertaining to each pupil including: date of admission; pupil's name, date of birth and religious denomination; name of previous school and date of leaving. The following details are recorded about the child's parents or guardians: name, residence and occupation. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade and date of leaving the school are also recorded. The volume as printed makes provision to record any occupation entered into on leaving school, but this column is employed here to indicate the school to which a pupil may have transferred.Girls and boys are listed on opposite pages in order of admission, and numbered in two distinct sequences. Entries are numbered continuously from the beginning of the volume until the end of 1946. Thereafter a new system is adopted; the numbering of entries begins anew at the commencement of each school year, and the last two digits of the year-number are added to the entry-number as a suffix.

本入学注册簿（admission register）的核心用途为记录入校学生及其父母或监护人的基础信息，同时亦可用于追踪学生在各年级的就读进度与离校日期。本数据集仅包含一册档案，完整收录该校办学全周期内的所有入学登记信息。该册档案涵盖每名学生的如下信息：入学日期、学生姓名、出生日期、宗教信仰、曾就读学校名称及离校日期；同时记录学生父母或监护人的姓名、住址与职业信息。此外，档案还会登记学生升入各后续年级的日期及最终离校日期。该印刷版档案预留了记录学生离校后所从事职业的栏目，但本数据集在此栏中填写的实为学生可能转入的学校名称。男生与女生的登记信息按入学顺序分别印在对页，且采用两套独立的编号体系。1946年年底前，所有登记项均从档案册开篇起连续编号。1946年之后则启用新编号规则：每学年伊始重新开始编号，并将学年编号的后两位作为后缀添加至登记项编号之后。
