A member of the ruminal bacterial flora of cattle. In the rumen, it ferments lactic acid and digests feed protein. It has the ability to cross ruminal epithelium, enter portal circulation and reach liver to set up abscessses. The isolate was isolated from an abscess in the liver of a steer in a slaughter plant.
