Processed LCI data. Data format: Excel file (.xlsx) The file contains 8 worksheets: (1) Nomenclature; (2) Flowcharts; (3) Normalised aggregated LCI data for: [i] scrap upgrading processes; [ii] secondary Cu recovered from Non-Ferrous rejects; [iii] differential flows for production of 1 t LS (flat) in EAF, scrap mix w/u-E1 vs baseline mix; and [iv] differential flows for production of 1 t LS (flat) in BOF, scrap mix w/dc scrap vs baseline mix; (4)-(7) graphical representation of the relative variations of LCI flows in radar charts; (8) Charts data. The confidentiality-preserving aggregated inventory of material and energy flows is provided as open dataset for publication of the LCA study. The detailed LCI has been used for LCA calculations, to evaluate the potential environmental benefits/losses generated by using upgraded low quality old scrap in steelmaking (flat products grades). The data and the research pertain to Task 6.3 (WP6, CAESAR project GA 101058520 – Deliverable D6.3). Date of collection: 25/04/2023 to 31/05/2026 Methodologies for collection/generation of data: Acquired data using LCI collection forms & interviews with industrial partners (AM steelmaking plants, scrap recyclers), scientific literature. Simulation data (AMBCRC's EAF physicochemical models for mass and energy balances in steelmaking; BOF data modelled using AMF charging calculator). Processed data: aggregated and normalised LCI data that conceals proprietary and sensitive information. Data aggregation by combining mass and energy flows of several process steps and input/output categories. Normalisation by dividing by the maximum value in each category. Average industrial demo LCI data: calculated mean values per inventory category.
