Department of Environment and Primary Industries output performance measures 2013-14

The Department of Environment and Primary Industries is Victoria’s primarygovernment agency responsible for agriculture, fisheries, forestry, publicland and the environment.The Department’s primary functions are:\\- efficient and practical management of land, water and agriculturalservices, including fisheries, game and forestry;\\- effective environmental investment and protection across Victoria,including the effective management of state forests, parks, coasts, alpineresorts and crown land reserves;\\- public land fire management to reduce the threat and impact of majorbushfires on communities, assets and critical infrastructure, and theenvironment;\\- conservation and protection of Victoria’s unique biodiversity andecosystems from catchment to coast;\\- environmental and adaptation policy to provide effective environmentaloutcomes and resource efficiency; and\\- agricultural policy and program design and delivery enabling Victoria’sprimary industries to maximise employment, wealth and wellbeing for Victorianfamilies, regions and communities.
