Mapping of fusarium wilt resistance in melon

Fusarium wilt caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. melonis, is one of the most devastating diseases in melon production worldwide. Mapping of fusarium wilt resistance genes in melon will help to accelerate the breeding programs. Efforts have been made to identify stable sources of fusarium wilt resistance in cultivated variety Punjab Sunehri (susceptible) and wild accession SM2012-1 (resistant). F4 population was derived by crossing PS and SM2012-1, genotyped by GBS approach and phenotypic data was evaluated for mapping the QTLs confirming the resistance to fusarium wilt in melon.
