Gut Microbiota Profiles in Hirschsprung Disease and Bacterial Markers for Predicting Postoperative Enterocolitis

This project investigates the gut microbiota profiles in children with Hirschsprung disease (HSCR) and identifies bacterial markers associated with the development of postoperative enterocolitis. Fecal samples were collected at diagnosis, during surgery, and at one and six months after surgery. Age-matched healthy children were used as controls. 16S rRNA gene sequencing targeting the V3-V4 regions was performed using the Illumina MiSeq platform. The data highlight microbial changes over time and potential microbial predictors of postoperative complications.
