His use of psychodynamic conceptualizations to guide and facilitate 5-6 session treatment of the patient in crisis is portrayed. His therapy is based on insight particularly as it relates to the agreed upon goals and problems. Gathering a history, formulating an approach, setting goals, and contracting with the patient are outlined for the first interview. Management techniques for various common complaints are suggested. Other approaches to short-term psychotherapies are not considered, and the discussion omits the outcome or follow-up. A lack of specificity impairs the material's applicability. The delivery is distinct, despite some intrusive background noise and volume fluctuation. The program is recommended for use.
