SSP Population and Human-Capital Projections, 2025-Rebased, 2025-2100 (zen2025V01)
收藏资源简介:
This dataset (version zen2025V01) provides population and human-capital projectionoutputs for the five Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs), re-based on a 2025 jump-offpopulation, covering 2025-2100 at five-year intervals. Results are generated with theMultidimensional Demographic Modelling (MDM) workflow, the cohort-component machineryused for the Wittgenstein Centre / SSP projections, and are disaggregated by region, sex,five-year age group, and six levels of educational attainment. All files are provided inopen CSV format. Each scenario is uploaded as a separate CSV file, allowing users to download only thepathway they need. In addition to the projection outputs, the dataset includes a recodedictionary and a file overview to support interpretation, together with a READMEdescribing the structure and known caveats. The projection files contain five-year interval estimates of population size, births, deaths, immigration, and emigration by region, sex, age, and education. Variabledescriptions, value labels, and category mappings are provided in Recode dictionary.csv. Note on SSP2: SSP2 is unchanged by the 2025 re-basing. The re-basing takes the SSP2projection's 2025 population as the new jump-off state and applies the SSP1, SSP3, SSP4,and SSP5 assumptions from 2025 onward. SSP2 projected from the earlier base year alreadypasses through exactly that state, so the 2025-based SSP2 and the original SSP2 describethe same trajectory. All five scenarios therefore share an identical 2025 population ofapproximately 8.15 billion, and the SSP2 file serves as the common reference pathway. Notes for users: the files contain individual countries together with UN area, subregion, and world aggregates in the same table. Filter on the region_level column beforeaggregating, otherwise totals will be double-counted. Rows with agest = -5 are a newbornaccounting placeholder rather than a stock age group and should be excluded when computingpopulation stocks; a small number of terminal-period rows at that age carry negligiblenegative values as a rounding artefact. These are scenario outputs, not probabilistic forecasts. They should not be read aspredictions, and long-run country-level results for small territories warrant particularcaution.
