Biological replicate samples for each group were pooled (HIV1-4; HIV-infected on HAART, N1-4; healthy controls) and the pool was split into four 50 µg of aliquots of technical replicates that were then labeled with Cy3 or Cy5. Each gel contained the pooled standard (Pooled Std; mix of equal aliquots of each sample in all experimental groups) and two other subject samples. Thus, the 8 samples were analyzed in triplicate by running four gels. (For detail descriptions refer “Materials and Methods section.”).
