Assignment: Narcotics arrest on ship. 16: US Customs officers on each side of suspect arrested aboard tanker 'James E. Day' at berth 77, Long Beach Harbor, 10 pm, bringing him to police care. Suspect (center) is Vern L. Reprogle, 25, able-bodied Seaman, Merchant Marine, of 444 Ohio Avenue, Long Beach, later booked Long Beach Police Department on illegal possession narcotics. 17: Reprogle (hiding) entering police car, officers around him. 20, 21: Reprogle hiding face, escorted by LBPD narcotics squad detectives Lawrence C.
