Retirement Account Balances by Age, United States, 2022 (computed from the Federal Reserve Survey of Consumer Finances)
收藏资源简介:
Median, mean, 25th/75th/90th percentile and zero-share retirement account balances by age cohort, computed from the Federal Reserve's 2022 Survey of Consumer Finances Summary Extract under a pre-registered method, with correct multiple-implicate handling and a reconciliation against the Board's own published table.Version 1.1.0 (13 August 2026) — correction. Version 1.0.0 published the weighted_families field for each cohort at exactly one fifth of the true count: it summed the sample weight within a single implicate, and the Board's own macro sets WGT = X42001/5 so that totals estimated over the five implicates jointly come out right. The corrected counts sum to 131,306,389 US families and were cross-checked against a direct sum of WGT over all 22,975 records of the source archive, grouped by the same age cohorts, agreeing to better than one part in a billion in every cohort. No other figure in this dataset changes — every other statistic is a median, mean, percentile or share, all scale-invariant in the weights, which is why the reconciliation against the Board's own published table passed on version 1.0.0 and passes unchanged now. The field is absent from the CSV and was never published on clearmoneyguide.com. scf_study_compute.py is corrected in this version too, so a re-run reproduces the corrected file.
