Own calculation was limited to creation of table showing the share of foreign-born persons in the resident population (%), counted as Share foreign-born (%) = Foreign-born population / Reporting-country population + Foreign-born population.V4 countries have been highlighted, consistantly at or near the bottom of EU.Note: [Data for 2024] Poland, Slovakia, Sweden and Liechtenstein did not include refugees from Ukraine who benefit from temporary protection in their population and migration statistics.[Data for 2023] Similar clarification regarding Ukrainian refugees under temporary protection is not stated explicitly [Eurostat] but should be accounted for as a possibility. This would require further examination. The data set operates with timeframe starting from 2009, following the 2008 harmonised EU migration data collection based on Regulation (EC) No 862/2007 and the analysis and composition of the EU, EFTA and candidate countries groups as of 1 January of the reference year are given in the implementing Commission Regulation (EU) No 351/2010.
