资源简介:
Climate model analyses of atmospheric and surface conditions in the
Persian Gulf region were carried out to study the effects of the
Kuwait oil fires during 1991. National Meteorological Center (NMC)
model analyses at 2.5 degree resolution on pressure surfaces were
obtained over a 6000 km region. NMC model data consists of Medium
Range Forecast (MRF) flux fields, MRF model analysis, MRF high
resolution model output, and NMC high resolution spectral model output
on sigma surfaces.
The MRF Flux Field model data consists of analyses at 0000, 0600,
1200, and 1800 GMT for vertical levels at surface, 2 meters, 10,
meters, and top of the model. Parameters modelled include the
accumulated precipitation, upward and downward longwave/shortwave
fluxes, heat flux, temperature, soil wetness, humidity, and wind
components.
MRF model analysis data were obtained at 0000 and 1200 GMT at vertical
levels from the surface, 1000 mb through 50 mb. Parameters modelled
include pressure, Sea surface temperature (SST), geopotential heights,
humidity, and winds.
NMC model data includes high resolution output from the NMC Medium
Range Forecast (MRF) Model provided by NOAA/Air Resources Laboratory
(ARL). The data consists of 33x33 grids at 91.5 km resolution
covering the period from July 29 to Sept. 16, 1991. The NMC model
analysis data are available at 0000, 0600, 1200, and 1800 GMT. The
data is on vertical levels ranging from the surface (precipitation,
pressure), and on sigma surfaces from 0.995 to 0.467 sigma (specific
humidity, temperature and winds.
The NMC high resolution spectral model consists of data at 0000, 0600,
1200, and 1800 GMT at 1.25 degree resolution. Data are at the surface
and at sigma surfaces ranging from 0.990 to 0.400 (height above
surface, specific humidity, pressure, temperature and winds.
The Kuwait model datasets are defined as approximately 1 week of model
output runs. The Kuwait oil fire NMC model data can be ordered on-line
