The Neural Motor System and Third-Person Consciousness
收藏资源简介:
This project presents a third-person reversal of the standard model of consciousness. Paper 1 — The Ignored Goat's Path to Consciousness: An Evolutionary Shortcut to the Basics of Being Explores the evolution and function of consciousness from a third-person perspective. Argues that the Neural Motor System (NMS), not a central "self", performs the primary calculations of behavior, and that what we call consciousness is a later logbook function (see Paper 3). Paper 2 — The Idea of Being Introduces the core hypothesis: organisms do not steer their brains; the NMS steers the organism. Proposes a computational model in which subjective experience emerges as a record, not as a cause. Paper 3 — The Third-Person Context of Qualia (in preparation) Will address the evolutionary origins of qualia, focusing on the role of the superior colliculus and hippocampus in transforming unconscious threshold values into conscious, logged values.
