VPRS 3144 Outwards Registered Correspondence, Finance Branch

This series consists of the Outwards Registered Correspondence for the Finance Branch of the Colonial Secretary's and later the Chief Secretary's Office. Like those for the General Branch (see VPRS 3129 and VPRS 2814) a separate volume was used to transcribe copies of correspondence sent to specific offices or upon specific subjects. In the case of the Finance Office, where the system appears to have commenced in October 1852, more than one office was covered by a single volume.The subjects of correspondence dealt with such things as payments, authorisations for expenditure and notifications of salary to appointed officers - in fact, any matter to do with receipts and disbursements related to the functions of the Office. As well as the letter itself, details of addressees are given and a notation is made of the number of the piece of inward correspondence to which this was a response.Formerly the volumes in this series were registered in a number of separate series. 财政科的档案体系始建于1852年10月，单卷本可同时涵盖多个对口机构的函件。
本系列函件的主题涵盖款项支付、支出审批、任职人员薪资通知等——凡与本机构职能相关的收支类事务均在收录范围内。除函件原文外，本系列还标注了收件方详细信息，并注明本函所复收文的编号。
本系列原分属多个独立子系列，经重新整理后整合为单一系列，因其整体构成一套连贯的档案管理体系。
