Wind structure and accretion physics in the rarely studied HMXB 1E 1145.1-6141
收藏资源简介:
We propose to observe the highmass Xray binary (HMXB) 1E 1145.16141simultaneously with XMMNewton and NuSTAR for 40ks each. This will be the firstsensitive broadband observations of this little studied source. The systemconsists of a neutron star and a B2 supergiant, which is one of the lateststellar types found in a HMXB. Our goal is to investigate the structure of theaccreted matter and the stellar wind and search for a cyclotron resonantscattering feature to constrain the magnetic field. We will describe thebroadband Xray spectrum with stateoftheart physical models to constrain thephysical conditions close to the neutron star and perform pulse phaseresolvedanalysis to constraint the emission geometry. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
