This study aimed to elucidate the mechanisms by which Retinoic Acid Receptor-Related Orphan Receptor Alpha (RORa) activation promotes mitophagy, subsequently inhibiting the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA)-cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS)-stimulator of interferon genes (STING) signaling pathway in aging microglia, thereby suppressing the NLRP3 inflammasome cascade and ultimately alleviating hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE).
