The planning domain, which is centered on the Cape Floristic Region (CFR), encompasses an extension of approximately 60 km beyond the boundaries of the CFR. This boundary incorporate Namaqualand, Tanqua Karoo, Great Karoo, etc, and is to accommodate processes that transcend the biophysical boundaries between the CFR and adjacent bioregions. The total planning domain covers an area of 122 590 km2. The method used to derive the boundary is unknown as it does not match the Cape_grid file. It seems though that the shape was derived from the area covered with the grid files.`本规划区域以开普植物区（Cape Floristic Region, CFR）为核心，范围向外延伸至开普植物区边界外约60公里处。该规划区域的边界涵盖纳马夸兰（Namaqualand）、坦卡鲁（Tanqua Karoo）、大卡鲁（Great Karoo）等区域，其设置目的是容纳跨越开普植物区与邻近生物区之间生物物理边界的生态过程。本次规划区域总面积达122590平方千米。由于该边界与Cape_grid文件不匹配，因此其具体推导方法尚不明确。不过推测该规划区域的边界形状是基于网格文件覆盖的区域生成的。
