EXAMINATION OF DETRITAL CHARCOAL AND AMS RADIOCARBON AGE DETERMINATION OF MATERIAL FROM THE LOST CREEK DAM PALEOFLOOD STUDY, WEBER BASIN, UTAH

Four site locations were investigated as part of the Lost Creek Dam Paleoflood Study, Weber Basin, Utah. Twenty-five detrital charcoal samples collected from sites LC3, LC4, LC5, and LC6 were submitted for recovery and identification of charred organic fragments suitable for AMS radiocarbon age determination. Subsequent to identification, seven samples were selected for AMS radiocarbon dating.作为犹他州韦伯盆地失落溪大坝古洪水研究（Lost Creek Dam Paleoflood Study）的一部分，本次研究对四处遗址点位开展了调查。研究人员从LC3、LC4、LC5及LC6遗址采集25份碎屑炭样品，将其送交实验室开展炭化有机碎屑的提取与鉴定工作，以适配加速器质谱仪（AMS）放射性碳定年的检测需求。完成鉴定流程后，最终选取其中7份样品开展AMS放射性碳定年分析。
