Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) manifest in early childhood with both a genetic and environmental component contributing to ASD risk. DPM exposure during gestation has been implicated in ASD risk. To examine this effect on brain development we utilized human cerebral organoids as a model for fetal brain development. We used multiple RNAseq platforms (ribosomal reduced, single-cell, and direct nanopore) to examine the toxicogenomic effects of diesel particulate matter(DPM) on human cerebral organoids.
