The Reptile Database is a comprehensive taxonomic database that provides basic information for all extant reptile species, including turtles, snakes, lizards, crocodilians, tuatara, amphisbaenians and other related groups. It houses over 10,000 species and more than 2,700 subspecies, serving as a taxonomic information source for projects such as the Catalogue of Life and the Encyclopedia of Life, and is the only comprehensive online reptile database on the web. This database is maintained by Peter Uetz and Jakob Hallermann of the Zoological Museum Hamburg.
