Three sampling natural areas which were heavily invaded by Solidago canadensis are located nearby Haidong Wetland Park, Laoyu River Wetland Park and Anle Village within Yunnan Province, Southwestern China. The dominated soil type is classified as red soil with a silty clay texture (clay 45.0%, silt 46.3% and sand 8.7%). The soil core sample was collected into 0-30 cm depth where most roots present using a stainless steel sampler with 3.5 cm diameter.
