RNA-Seq of sub-adult European seabass experimentally fed with alternative protein sources

Single end 3'UTR sequencing of European seabass' distal intestines and pyloric caeca was performed after 22-weeks feeding trial at laboratory scale using alternative protein sources, to assess the effect of diet on the intestinal function of farmed fish. Test feed was plant-based diet supplemented with Hermetia illucens in combination with poultry by-product meal, plant-based diet was used as a negative control and fish-based diet as a positive control. In total, there were 24 samples, each tissue and feed combination were represented with 4 biological replicates. Each biological replicate corresponded to a single fish, meaning pyloric caeca and distal intestine were paired as subsamples.
