PKC alpha gene sequences of sphingid moths. Protein kinase C alpha gene sequences of sphingid moths (Lepidoptera, Sphingidae)

Protein kinase C is the target of phorbol esters which block access for the physiological ligand diacylglycerol. Some sphingid moths like Hyles euphorbiae nevertheless feed on phorbol ester-containing plants. This project compares the target site of the PKC alpha gene, the C1 domain, of species that are sensitive or insensitive to phorbol esters.
