This study aimed to explore in-depth the roles and mechanisms of lysophosphatidic acid receptor 3 (LPA3) in the complex pathophysiological processes of sepsis, which may identify new mechanisms for the development of sepsis and provide new therapeutic strategies. Since sepsis can result from various types of infections, including bacterial and viral, its treatment and prevention is of great importance during the COVID-19 pandemic. We believe that our study makes a significant contribution to the literature because it demonstrated for the first time that LPA3 deficiency might exacerbate thrombosis in sepsis by promoting neutrophil extracellular trap formation.
