Analysis of RNA editing in transfected HEK293 cell lines

In this study, we examined RNA editing events upon transient transfection of HEK293 cells with ADARB1. As ADARB1 can serve as a cofactor for APOBEC3 mediated C-to-U editing at MFN1 transcripts, the goal of this study was to assess whole transcriptome wide changes in C-to-U editing events upon transient ADARB1 expression in HEK293 cells. Therefore, miRNAs and mRNAs from transfected cells were isolated and analysed by next generation sequencing. A-to-I and C-to-U changes were determined and analysed.
