Share of local finance app downloads in the U.S. 2019-2023

Between 2019 and 2023, the fintech sector in the United States became less localized in terms of finance app downloads. While in 2019, 93.1 percent of all finance app downloads were downloads of locally headquartered finance apps, in 2023 the share of local finance app downloads dropped to 87.2 percent. This was still much higher than in other countries in the region, for instance in Mexico, where the share of local finance app downloads was hardly less than 60 percent.
