POPULATION AVERAGE UNICORONAL CRANIOSYNOSTOSIS SKULL

Nineteen patients having UC were recruited at GOSH (age 9.8+/-4.1): DICOM images were collected, converted into skull 3D STL files using Simpleware ScanIP (Synopsys®) and processed using Meshmixer (Autodesk®). A standard geometric morphometric protocol was used for 3D shape processing: each model was cut along the Frankfurt plane and the outer surface of the skull was extracted. A template mesh was used and no-rigid iterative closest point registration (implemented in Matlab) was used to achieve a common discretisation for each model. A population average model was created by averaging node coordinates.
