NRS-19521 | Personal History Cards, Mechanical Branch

This series consists of personal history cards for employees of the Mechanical Branch. These cards are in alphabetical order by employee surname and contain the following information: full name, date of birth, branch reference number, marital status, whether an ex-serviceman, medical reference number, employee number, address. These cards also record day, month and year date; position; station; rate of pay and remarks - such as appointment, passing of examinations, award variations and resignation.Please note that cards with surnames beginning 'Mc' are filed at the end of the 'M' section. Surnames beginning 'Mac' are filed in normal alphabetical order.Custody HistoryFrom 1955 until 2000 the State Rail Authority of New South Wales maintained an 'in house archives' consisting of the archival records of the Authority, its predecessor agencies and the private railway companies taken over by the government. The date ranges of the records were from 1849 until 2000. When the decision was made to close the 'State Rail Archives' the parts of the collection that were required as State archives were transferred to the State Records Authority of NSW. Those record series were incorporated into the State Records series system of archives control and were re-numbered.This series was formerly part of the State Rail Archives collection. It may have been viewed in the State Rail Archives as series R553 and could have been previously cited as such in notes by researchers at State Rail Archives or in publications or unpublished works.

1955年至2000年间，新南威尔士州铁路管理局（State Rail Authority of New South Wales）建立了内部档案库，收纳该局及其前身机构、被政府收购的私营铁路公司的档案记录，档案时间跨度为1849年至2000年。当新南威尔士州铁路档案馆（State Rail Archives）决定关停时，其中需作为州级档案留存的馆藏部分被移交至新南威尔士州档案管理局（State Records Authority of NSW）。该部分馆藏序列被纳入新南威尔士州档案管理局的档案管控体系，并重新赋予编号。
