Data related to the identification and genomic characterisation of egoviruses

Databases our study used or generated include (1) the reference RNApolA proteins (with taxonomy) and those identified from the metagenomic survey, (2) <i>Egovirales</i> RNApolA and DJR-MCPs proteins, (3) reference <i>Nucleocytoviricota</i> HMMs as well as two new HMMs targeting the DJR-MCP and VLTF3 of <i>Egovirales</i>, (4) HMMs for the core genes and single copy core genes of <i>Egovirales</i>, (5) the 224 <i>Egovirales</i> MAGs (including complete genomes), (6) the 3D structure of the <i>Egovirales</i> DJR-MCP, (7) the non-redundant database of MCP and RNApolA genes covering the diversity of egoviruses and eukaryotes found in the <i>Egovirales</i>-positive samples, (8) KilA proteins found in nucleocytoviruses and Metamonada, (9) and data associated with the main phylogenies. These items along with the supplementary tables and Supplementary Information document have been made publicly available here.
