The current project aims to characterize the function of Manduxa sexta Hexanal isomerase 1 (MsHi-1) on insect development. Our recent study has confirmed the function of MsHi-1 related to green leaf volatile isomerization, but its primary subtract of oxidoreductase still remains unclear as well as the mechanism on developmental regulation. We collected the mRNA-seq samples from the first and third instar larvae full body. In these developmental stages, the MsHi-1 is highly and lowly transcripts respectively. The identification of differential genes between the wild-type and the Hi-1 knockout mutant of M. sexta will identity genes and pathways affected by the Hi-1 mutation.
