Reduction of short chain fatty acids-producing bacteria in the oral microbiota of children with hand, foot, and mouth disease caused by enterovirus 71

Children diagnosed with EV71 HFMD and healthy children were respectively enrolled in the EV71 group and the control group from April 2021 to September 2023. A total of 80 children were included in the study, with 50 in the EV71 group and 30 in the control group. Specimen numbers beginning with "HFMD" correspond to children in the EV71 group, while those beginning with "N" correspond to healthy children in the control group.
