As an official research journal of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, JAERE publishes papers that are devoted to environmental and natural resource issues. The journal's principal mission is to provide a forum for the scholarly exchange of ideas in the intersection of human behavior and the natural environment. Focusing on original, full-length research papers that offer substantial new insights for scholars of environmental and resource economics, JAERE presents a range of articles that are relevant for public policy, using approaches that are theoretical, empirical, or both.The editors and coeditors of JAERE are among the world’s top economists. Importantly, across the many editors and coeditors, we have expertise on virtually every aspect of environmental and resource economics, including research topics and methodologies. What this means is that the expert handling your manuscript will have specialized knowledge to draw from when selecting reviewers and making an editorial decision.The goal of the editorial team is to provide a decision to authors within two months. Within the economics profession, this goal is very ambitious. The table below indicates that our response times are getting very close to this rate, and we hope to continue to improve upon this record.
