Air temperature is measured at seven locations within the rain gage clearings throughout Hubbard Brook. The oldest air temperature record dates back to October 20, 1955 at Station 1. Since that time, temperature measurements have been made continuously using hygrothermographs housed in standard shelters. These data were gathered as part of the Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study (HBES). The HBES is a collaborative effort at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, which is operated and maintained by the USDA Forest Service, Northern Research Station.
