Ice Ball Size and Temperature Change During Cryoablation in a Lard and an Iodized-oil (Lipiodol) Tissue Phantom

A phantom was constructed using six glass bottles, with one containing 0.9% normal saline (NS), while the others held agar phantoms mixed with different proportions of lard and NS (0%, 10%, 40%, 70%, and 100% lard). The Lipiodol phantom was prepared similarly. Six cryoprobes were inserted into each bottle, and freezing started simultaneously. Temperature readings were recorded every 10 seconds over a 9-minute freezing period. CT scans were performed prior to freezing and at 3, 6, and 9 minutes post-freezing to measure ice ball diameter. Freezing rates and ice ball sizes were compared across various concentrations of lard and iodized oil.
本实验采用6个玻璃瓶构建体模(phantom),其中1个瓶内盛放0.9%生理盐水(normal saline, NS),其余5个瓶内盛放添加不同比例猪油与生理盐水的琼脂体模,猪油占比分别为0%、10%、40%、70%及100%。碘化油体模(Lipiodol phantom)的制备流程与之相仿。向每个瓶内插入6根冷冻探针(cryoprobe),随后同步启动冷冻过程。在总计9分钟的冷冻时长内,每10秒记录一次温度读数。分别于冷冻前、冷冻后第3、6及9分钟进行CT扫描,以测量冰球(ice ball)直径。对比不同猪油与碘化油浓度下的冷冻速率与冰球尺寸。
