This study aims to investigate the genomic features and therapeutic potential of bacteriophages targeting multidrug-resistant (MDR) Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a major pathogen responsible for healthcare-associated infections. The rise of MDR P. aeruginosa poses a significant threat to public health, as these infections are difficult to treat using conventional antibiotics due to their ability to resist a wide range of antimicrobial agents. In response to this growing problem, bacteriophage therapy has emerged as a promising alternative, utilizing naturally occurring viruses that specifically target and kill bacteria. Unlike antibiotics, bacteriophages are highly specific to their bacterial hosts, which reduces the risk of disrupting beneficial microbiota and offers the potential to overcome issues related to antibiotic resistance.
