Magicicada tredecim internal and exoskeleton DNA sequences

A 13-year brood of periodical cicadas, Magicicada tredecim, were collected from various tree species located at the University of Mississippi. DNA was extracted from internal contents and exoskeletons of cicadas, as well as the soil samples collected from around each tree of interest. Analyses were performed to determine whether cicadas submerged under the same tree had similar microbiomes and any potential impacts that the soil from different tree species may have on the microbiome of individual cicadas.
