Whole Genome sequencing of Colletotrichum fructicola (strain Nara gc5) The Causal organism of New Leaf Spot disease of Hevea brasiliensis in India

In recent years, Hevea brasiliensis was infected by a disease characterized by the presence of brown spots on mature leaves which was followed by severe leaf fall in rubber plantations in India. The etiology and the relationship with the leaf fall were unknown. A fungal species was routinely isolated from infected leaves of Hevea showing brown leaf spot symptom. This fungal species was identified as Colletotrichum fructicola based on whole genome sequencing.
