Parkes observations for project P885 semester 2021APRS_03

We propose to continue observing the magnetars 1E 1547.0-5408 and PSR J1622-4950 weekly, to track their rotation, flux density, and polarisation. The revolutionary UWL capabilities promise new opportunities to disentangle still mysterious radio emission mechanisms in magnetars. This promise is supported by the recent follow up of XTE J1810-197, again a radio magnetar after 10 years dormant, and of the hot-off-the-press magnetar Swift J1818.0-1607, for which our exciting recent results with UWL motivate an increased monitoring cadence to once weekly.

我们提议对磁星（magnetars）1E 1547.0-5408与PSR J1622-4950开展每周一次的持续观测，以追踪其自转、流量密度与偏振特性。极具革新性的UWL观测能力，为解开磁星迄今仍未阐明的射电辐射机制之谜提供了全新契机。这一潜力得到了近期两项后续观测的支撑：一是对XTE J1810-197的观测，该天体亦是一颗沉寂10年后重新活跃的射电磁星；二是对新近发现的磁星Swift J1818.0-1607的观测——我们借助UWL已获得突破性的近期研究成果，这推动我们将对该天体的监测频次提升至每周一次。
