Records at sea of juveniles southern elephant seals (Mirounga leonina) from Península Valdés, Argentina

This resource contains satellite-tracked locations obtained through Argos system from juveniles of southern elephant seal of Península Valdés, Argentina, during the pelagic phase in the South Atlantic and South Pacific oceans. The dataset encompasses the satellite positions of tags deployed on 6 males and 7 females in 2004 and 2005 winter haul out (July-August), and 18 males and 7 females in 2003, 2005 to 2007 summer haul out (December-January). A filter was applied to delete unrealistic locations.本数据集收录了通过阿尔戈斯（Argos）卫星跟踪系统获取的阿根廷瓦尔德斯半岛（Península Valdés）南象海豹（southern elephant seal）幼体在南大西洋与南太平洋远洋期的卫星定位点位。其中，2004年与2005年冬季上岸集群期（7-8月）部署了6头雄性、7头雌性个体的卫星标签，对应定位点位均纳入本数据集；2003年、2005年至2007年夏季上岸集群期（12月至次年1月）部署了18头雄性、7头雌性个体的卫星标签，其定位点位同样被纳入数据集。本数据集已通过滤波处理剔除了不合理的定位点位。
