Impact of manure amendment on the olive tree root microbiota. Root endosphere and rhizosphere soils from organic and tradicional managed olive orchards

The use of manure amendment on agricultural fields exerts a direct benefit on soil nutrient content and water retention, among others. Along with these effects, microbial communities are assumed to change as provided nutrient inputs fluctuate. However, little is known about the impact of manure amendment on the root-associated microbiome, particularly in the case of woody species. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the effects of ovine manure inputs on the microbial communities of the rhizosphere and root endosphere of olive trees.
